Stuard Herbert's Blog:
When will you be moving to PHP 5.3?
May 14, 2009 @ 15:45:12

Stuart Herbet has posted a poll for the PHP developers asking when they think they'll make the next big jump - up to PHP 5.3.

As part of the research I'm doing for a new conference talk, I'm running a poll to find out when people are planning to switch to PHP 5.3. After the very slow uptake of PHP 5.0, I'm very curious to see how quickly PHP 5.3 will be adopted.

Options include "As soon as it comes out", "Not until $customer needs something only in PHP 5.3", "When $hosting-company adds support for it" and "PHP 5.3 isn't very interesting to me". As of right now it's a close race between as soon as it's out and within three months of release. Seems like there'll be a lot of early adopters. Cast your vote!
