For everyone that's lamented the lack of a "good, solid PHP book" out there on the shelves, just remember - it used to be worse. In fact, the latest posting on php traveller points this out in their interview with Dilip Thomas from Wrox, a "Content Architect".
In this brief interview, they cover the fact that there are several more books about PHP "in the pipeline" from Wrox. One other interesting mention I noticed: In my opinion, Wrox == PHP in the same sense as ORA [O'Reilly] == PERL. Aiming to be "the standard" in publishing books for the PHP audience is a high task to live up to. Not only to they have to compete with an already wonderful manual, but they also have scads of other PHP books out on the shelves to take the customer's attention away.
One other fun thing - apparently some of the PHP crew (Andi, Derick, and Jesus) are already working on their "Professional PHP5" book pending the release of this upgrade...
