For everyone out there that currently runs the most popular PHP portal software out there - PHPNuke - there's a new patch that you need to go get right now to take care of a security issue that was "discovered" over the weekend.
If you'd like to know more about what this patch effects and what kinds of issues you might face with this security breach, check out this story on the PHPNuke site. Unfortunately, they found out the hard way, with the deletion of a lot of their files.
The security audit of the past attack that shutdown PHPNuke.org web site due to a massive file deletion has a preliminary results. The attack hasn't been made thru Apache but thru PHP-Nuke using a combination of two bugs into the code. I must admit that the cracker is a genius, but got the "cracker" mention instead of "hacker" due to the massive damage he caused. The damage has been solved after 8 hours of hard work. Thanks to Gaylen F. for the heads up...
