There's a new post over on the PHPKitchen.com site that's a compilation of a discussion from the PEAR mailing list. It's a comparison of PEAR::DB versus ADODB, two of the largest players in the database-abstraction world of PHP.

It's a nice discussion that brings up several valid points about each - ease of use, popularity, speed, and, most important, flexibility between RDBMS. These keys will help you pick which of these two database-abstraction tools is the right one for the job you're doing.
