Alright - I'm considering redoing this site...
No, it wouldn't be just another redesign (though that would be part of it). I'm talking about redefining the layout of the site, and how it all works together. Right now, the sections on the left are all pretty separate, and most of this content isn't even looked at, at least by most people. More people hit this front page than anything else on the site....
So, what I'm thinking about is - keeping with the "up-to-the-minute news" focus of PHPDeveloper.org, revamping the site to be more central to that, and trying less to be an "all in one" resource like before. Everything would focus on the news items, everything would link to and from them, and everything would work better with an easier interface for posting comments/ideas related to the articles.
Some other features that I'd thought about to create some more of a community on the site was the addition of personal blogs for members, allowing them to essentially write their own, more compete comments on the articles....
But, I want to hear from all of you out there - what sites have you seen or visited that you really enjoyed that were largely content-focused? What kinds of things would you like to see in a new iteration of PHPDeveloper.org?
