And the Memebers Area Goes On...
Jan 10, 2003 @ 13:30:58

New from DevArticles this morning, is the latest in the latest part in the (pretty long) series - Building a Members Area With PHP (Part 5 of 6). While it's getting pretty close to the end of the series, the quality of the article hasn't diminished. This one picks up where the other left off, showing you how, using the code base they've already helped you develop, to entice people to become users of your site.

The key to their whole idea is restriction - no, not censorship or anything like that. Restriction is just offering more content (or more fresh content) to those that are members and are logged into the site. They even have some rules to help you figure out what content you should make "restricted" and how you can mark them.

They give several different methods for integrating this idea into your site, including the code samples to back it up. And, they top it all off with a small script that will help you create a "members logged in" page for your own personal tracking.
