Over from DevArticles this morning, there's a new article that talks about some good general practices that the author suggests to make your code cleaner and easy to manage.
In Some PHP Guidelines to Live By..., the author steps through some very simple tips and tricks to help you work better in your coding. Most of the suggestions given here. are just common sense, but you'd be surprised by how many programmers make these same mistakes over and over again. One of the most important one is one that people are still making (despite Register_globals being set to "off") - lots of people are still using variables like they're gloabl. While most of them are "hangers-on" from before when the globals were allowed, too many people are still clutching to that past and working with random varaibles.
