Latest News From the Front

New this morning from Zend is their latest PHP Weekly Summary for the changes made and proposed this past week.

In this week's summary, there's talk about the latest release candidate, and the fact that PHP 4.3.0 will be around just in time for the Christmas season. (PHP for Christmas, who knew?). Also, the official name of the system-side PHP build has officialy been changed from "php" to "php-cli". This means that, in future releases, your CGI scripts will break if they just use "php" for their executable.

There were also some mentions of updates to the uniquid() function, as well as the release of some new tools that you can use to interface with network devices as well as TCP and UDP clients and servers.
