PHPEverywhere:
The Michael Kimsal Interview
Oct 10, 2002 @ 12:49:07

This must be a week for interviews or something, because PHPEverywhere is treating us to yet another one - an interview with the founder of Tap Internet, Michael Kimsal. Their primary focus is to help companies migrate existing business processes to use internet technologies. One of the things that they do to accomplish this is provide training in PHP.

The interview covers things like what they offer, how the classes are going, and talks a bit about Tap Internet's development platform, LogiCreate. The LogiCreate system is more 'object oriented' in nature than similar systems. The bulk of the system is built with a strong notion of user/group permissions - if something isn't explicitly made available to a specific set of users (a document, or an entire code module) it is inaccessible to that set of users.

It's an interesting interview, if for nothing more than getting an idea of what it's like to teach PHP classes and to provide that kind of service through your company. We need more of these kinds of things with qualified instructors teaching them - anything to help further the cause of PHP.
