Lorna Jane has posted a brief look back at this year's PHP London conference and the PHPWomen group's involvement there.

Leap Year Day, 29th February 2008, saw the annual London PHP Conference. PHPWomen were lucky enough to be able to get a stand at this conference to promote our organisation, and it was a great opportunity to get together and meet all the women that were able to be there.

She counted around 20 women at a conference of around 300 attendees (7% - not bad!) and notes that when attending a conference with a popular group, always bring enough t-shirts. There were even elePHPant and cake (no not the framework) sightings later in the day.

A big thankyou to all the helpers - it was wonderful to meet you all and I hope you enjoyed yourself as much as I did!

On the PHPWomen.org blog today, Ligaya Turmelle has posted about the t-shirts they've created for the group and will have at this year's Zend/PHP Conference & Expo:

Just wanted to let the world know that we will be handing out t-shirts with 2 designs at this years Zend Conference. Below you will find a mock up I made (not the printers) for what the t-shirts will look like. You will be able to pick a t-shirt at the PHPWomen booth in the exhibition hall that Zend has been so kind to donate to us.

Check out the first option and second option for the shirts.

Ben Ramsey's Blog: PHP Community T-Shirts

Ben Ramsey has posted the design that's been developed (as developed by Ligaya Turmelle and Elizabeth Naramore) for the PHP Community t-shirts they'll have at this year's Zend/PHP Conference & Expo:

Last year, a substantial number of regulars of #phpc attended the Zend/PHP Conference and Expo, so we decided to make #phpc t-shirts for everyone. This year, that number of attendees from #phpc has dramatically risen, and, again, we'll be creating special t-shirts, this time using the original PHPCommunity.org logo created by Peter Jovanovic (with contributions from Richard Davey).

If you're attending the conference and would like one of the shirts, submit your information and you'll be added to the list.

Check out Ligaya Turmelle's blog post for more information.

Community News: #phpc Community Channel T-Shirts for ZendCon

As is mentioned here on Ben Ramsey's blog and here on the Zend Developer Zone - the "official" shirts of the PHP community channel on freenode, #phpc, have been created and can be ordered.

Ben notes that the decision was made to create the shirts because of the good number of #phpc-ers that were attending the Zend/PHP Conference and Expo this year. The design has been created and the order will soon be placed, so if you want to get in on the order, let Ben know (via email - tshirts [at] benramsey.com) and they'll add another name to the list. The cost on them is about $13 USD.

Chris Shiflett's Blog: OSCON People and Random Tidbits

Back with more from his experiences at this year's OSCON, Chris Shiflett has posted a few of the more random things he experienced while there.

One of the great things about OSCON is how it brings people together, and this year's conference was no different. I had the privilege of meeting a number of people for the first time.

People on his list include Cal Evans, Andrew van der Stock, Kevin Yank, Jeremy Johnstone, and Ed Finkler. He also mentions a "cool idea" from Zak Greant - the use of a bug/issue tracker to deal with community issues.

Chris also briefly mentions the "PHP trading card game", the PHP Security Hoedown, and the OmniIT book signing.
