On the 7PHP.com site today they've posted the latest in their interview series, this time with Paul Dragoonis about his PPI framework. The PPI framework is an open source meta-framework made up of the good parts of components from Zend Framework v2, Symfony2 and Doctrine2.

If you are pretty much hooked to The PHP World and like to keep abreast with PHP frameworks, you have surely heard of The PHP Meta Framework called as The PPI Framework. It is said to be moulded by "taking the good bits from Symfony 2, ZendFramework 2 & Doctrine 2". PPI is creating quite some buzz around the PHP sphere recently; even The Symfony Super-man, Fabien Potencier, himself mentioned PPI in one of his article. That said, it sure promises some good things with a different approach. To have an idea about all these and to feed the curious minds (like myself) , I had a PPI chat with its creator: Paul Dragoonis.

They cover lots of things about the framework including:

When the project started and what it solves

What encouraged him to start a new framework project

Paul's thoughts about why someone should choose PPI

What kind of time he spends on the project

Some of his thoughts about dependencies in the framework

Some of the good and bad things about the project so far

You can read the rest of the interview with Paul here
