Ben Ramsey has posted the design that's been developed (as developed by Ligaya Turmelle and Elizabeth Naramore) for the PHP Community t-shirts they'll have at this year's Zend/PHP Conference & Expo:

Last year, a substantial number of regulars of #phpc attended the Zend/PHP Conference and Expo, so we decided to make #phpc t-shirts for everyone. This year, that number of attendees from #phpc has dramatically risen, and, again, we'll be creating special t-shirts, this time using the original PHPCommunity.org logo created by Peter Jovanovic (with contributions from Richard Davey).

If you're attending the conference and would like one of the shirts, submit your information and you'll be added to the list.

Check out Ligaya Turmelle's blog post for more information.

The Zend Developer Zone has posted an official announcement bout the wiki for the Zend/PHP Conference & Expo 2007 being posted and made live:

This year's <a href="http://www.zendcon.com>ZendCon will be bigger and better than ever. With the number of people we are expecting, it's going to be easy to lose track of your friends or people you want to meet. To help with that, we've put up a <a href="http://www.zendcon.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page>wiki for attendees. You can see who is coming, register in one of the affiliated groups who are planning events, and take a look at the Birds of a Feather sessions that are being proposed.

Pages created so far include a list of the ZCEs attending, members of the #phpc channel (PHP community) on the Freenode IRC network and a page for phpwomen.org members who will be attending.

Whether you have a group you want to add a page for or just want to add your name to one of the lists already made, head over to the ZendCon wiki and make some updates.

Community News: #phpc Community Channel T-Shirts for ZendCon

As is mentioned here on Ben Ramsey's blog and here on the Zend Developer Zone - the "official" shirts of the PHP community channel on freenode, #phpc, have been created and can be ordered.

Ben notes that the decision was made to create the shirts because of the good number of #phpc-ers that were attending the Zend/PHP Conference and Expo this year. The design has been created and the order will soon be placed, so if you want to get in on the order, let Ben know (via email - tshirts [at] benramsey.com) and they'll add another name to the list. The cost on them is about $13 USD.

Jacob Santos' Blog: PHPc: Compiler Theory and Ranting

Jacob Santos is back again today with this new blog post - his look at the world of PHP compilers and some of his theories (and rants) on the subject.

I know very little of compiler and interpreter theory and have never (yet) created a working implementation of a compiler or interpreter. What you're about to read or (most likely) skip over is a Head-in-Ass post and feel free to flame me on parts where I'm wrong, which will be most places. Do realize that this is one end user's opinion of the matter and any perceived insult upon any author(s) is not intended and please do not take it as such.

Jacob talks about run-time classes, class optimization, what he "really wants" out of a compiler, namespace functionality, a "phpc" extension, and his opinions on the Zend Engine, other web technologies, and the future of PHP.
