Ivo Jansch has posted some great news to the Ibuildings blog today - things about the upcoming Dutch PHP conference.

We have some updates regarding the Dutch PHP Conference in June (13th and 14th).

The first bits of great news surround the attendance - the conference day alone is over 95% full and the tutorial day is even more packed with only a few seats left. A pre-conference part has also been set up (see the post for the details of when and where). They've even set up a page of travel information to help you if you're looking for a way to get to the Amsterdam RAI for the two-day event.

Many congratulations go out to the Frankfurt PHP User Group today on their 5th anniversary (as mentioned in Marcus Wolff's new post)!

The PHP User Group Frankfurt am Main (PHPUGFFM) will be celebrating its 5th anniversary tomorrow and is planning for a big party, so if you're in the area, be sure to drop by! Well, of course it's a geek party (they're developers, what did you expect? :-)) so there'll be plenty of talks before the actual socializing will start.

Session topics will be Unobtrusive Javascript, $YAJQ ++, PHP Homebanking (the sequel), PHP Dos, Don't and maybes, juicy Joost and ION parser - sounds like a very interesting mix to me.

The meeting will be happening on May 10th there in Frankfurt at around 7:30-8:00pm and will feature some good talks before the party begins. Check out the meeting's entry for complete information.

Cal Evans is back today with his latest "live" recap from the floor of this year's O'Reilly Open Source Convention, this time with the happenings of Day Three.

Wow, how times files when you are having fun. After I finished yesterday's wrap-up, I sat through most of the opening session that included Tim O'Reilly's Radar. It was an interesting parade of up and comers who Tim thought we should know about. Unfortunately, none of them were PHP based so it's really not germane to this post. Before it ended I had to duck out anyhow for an interview with Theo Schlossnagle of OmniTI.

They talked about a wide range of subjects, before Theo had to give a talk. By then, though, the conference hall was opened - including access to the vendors (and their swag). Cal also mentions the Lightning Talks (given by Laura Thomson and Zac Greant) as well as Marcus Borger's "presentation" consisting of asking the audience what they wanted to hear about.

Christan Wenz's Blog: php|tek 2006 recap

In his latest blog entry, Christan Wenz has posted his (lengthy) recap of the php|tek conference put on by the folks over at php|techitect.

His summary includes mentions of Rasmus' keynote, Andrei's "rasmussed" talk on Unicode, and talks on the Zend Framework, time in PHP, and the panel discussion concerning frameworks in general.

He also attended the "conference party" one evening with a few others hitting some bars following (don't miss the videos of this one). The next day saw Derick Rethans going on with a PHP-related rant and Johannes Schlüter's talk on the reflection API.
