<i>Damien Seguy</i> has released the latest PHP statistics for last month - April 2008. Among the highlights are things like:
</p>
<ul>
<li>PHP 5.2.5 is now the most popular PHP version, ahead of 4.4.8
<li>PHP 5 reaches 36.60% of PHP market share
<li>Still a lot of migrations toward 5.2.5 and 4.4.8
</ul>

<li>There were no surprises, only data reinforcing already set trends
<li>PHP 5 now make up over a third of all PHP installations to date
<li>More installations moved up to PHP versions 5.2.5 and 4.4.8
<li>Apache has almost reached 70% of the web server market share
</ul>

Here are the PHP stats for September 2007. To learn about methodology, read la section phpversion. 27.4 millions servers hosted on 2.4 millions IP were surveyed during September, and 11.4 were used for stats : domaines without web sites, those unreachable, ISP, shared hosters or domain parkings were not considered.

Nexen.net has posted <a href="http://www.nexen.net/chiffres_cles/phpversion/php_stats_evolution_for_august_2006.php">the PHP statistics update</a> for the month of August 2006:

Here is the evolution graphic for PHP, in August 2006. To learn about the methodology, see <a href="http://www.nexen.net/phpversion/index.php">la section phpversion</a>. 15 millions servers were surveyed during August, and 8,2 were used for the stats : domaines without web sites, those unreachable, ISP or domain parkings were not considered.

<p>
PHP's overall adoption dipped down a bit this month, mostly due to the comination of many other smaller languages rising in popularity. All the while, though, PHP5 adoption is soaring, even gaining back ground it lost last month, and PHP 4.4 is growing more in popularity of the 4.x series versions, almost overtaking 4.3.
