<i>Tobias Schlitt</i> has <a href="http://schlitt.info/applications/blog/index.php?/archives/609-Beware,-FrOSCon-ahead!.html">posted about</a> this year's FrOSCon conference happening August 23rd and 24th near Bonn.

One of the most amazing German OS events is right in front of the door. Since the organizers of the FrOSCon expect a massive ammount of visitors, they ask everyone kindly to register on their website. If you did not do so, yet, take your heels and do so!

He mentions some of the "PHP VIP" that'll be there including <i>Marcus Boerger</i>, <i>Derick Rethans</i> and <i>Rasmus Lerdorf</i> as well as the <a href="http://schlitt.info/applications/blog/exit.php?url_id=4634&entry_id=609">dedicated PHP track</a> they'll have this year.       <title><![CDATA[Community News: FrOSCon 2008 Call for Papers]]></title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>
The <a href="http://westhoffswelt.de/blog/froscon2008.html">Call for Papers</a> for this year's <a href="http://froscon.org/">FrOSCon</a> has officially been announced:
</p>
<blockquote>
We decided in cooperation with the FrOSCon team to hold a subconference this year. This means we will have our own track with talks and maybe workshops. We want to encourage you to propose a talk for this event.
</blockquote>
<p>
The subconference will be in St. Augustin, near Bonn on August 23rd and 24th. You can check out complete details on when and where to submit your talk idea on <a href="http://froscon.phpugdo.de/call_for_papers.html">the official Call for Papers page</a> on the FrOSCon site. Topics suggested include innovative PHP products, testing in development and integrating PHP with other technology.

<i>Sebastian Bergmann</i> has <a href="http://sebastian-bergmann.de/archives/764-FrOSCon-2008-Call-for-Papers.html">posted about</a> this year's <a href="http://www.froscon.de/">FrOSCon 2008</a> and the Call for Papers they've issued:

Focus of the conference is a comprehensive range of talks about current topics in <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_Software">Free Software</a> and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_source_software">Open Source</a>. Furthermore, space will be provided for developers of free software and open source projects to organize their own developer meetings or even their own program.
</blockquote>
<p>
This year will be the third annual FrOSCon and will be held near Bonn, Germany. Besides the main conference, there will also be a sub-conference that has a <a href="http://froscon.phpugdo.de/call_for_papers.html">Call for Papers</a> of its own.
