In a new post to his blog Kevin Schroeder shares some of the responses he received from a question he posted on Facebook - what's your favorite PHP resource?

Earlier today I had asked on the Zend Facebook page "what is your favorite page for getting PHP-based information?" There were some good answers there so I figured that I would post those answers here (since it's all public information anyways).

Sites mentioned in his list include:

ProPHP.org

StackOverflow

PHPFreaks.com

PHPClasses.org

DZone.com

Several also mentioned using the Freenode IRC network (in channels like ##php and #phpc) for a more interactive form of help.

Hasin Hayder's Blog: What is your most favorite Book on PHP?

Hasin Hayder has asked the PHP community what some of their favorite books have been for learning PHP and related technologies:

So far I've read a lot of books written on PHP. But when someone asks me which one is my favorite, I get three or may be four which were very good. [...] Of course there are other books which are very good in fact. But these are my favorite (Well, you see that Beginning PHP4 and Professional PHP4 are obsolete by now, but they helped me a lot that time) [...] What is your most favorite Book on PHP? It doesn't matter if they are obsolete or 10 years old - Just share you most favorite one with us.

The comments included a wide range of titles from O'Reilly's "PHP Cookbook" and "PHP in Action" out to the classic "PHP Objects, Patterns, and Practice". There's many more besides these so if you're looking for a good book and a place to start, check out the comments for some great suggestions.

Hasin Hayder's Blog: What is your favorite IDE/editor for writing code?

The only topic more heatedly debated in the PHP world than which framework is the best is each developer's choice of IDEs. Hasin Hayder lists several popular choices and some of his thoughts on each.

Hmm, tough question for me. i have (had actually) so many favorites depending on context. but definitely it's interesting to write here about them.

IDEs mentioned include Visual Studio 6, NetBeans, Aptana and nano.

Douglas Brown's Blog: Popular PHP Frameworks: What's Your Fav?

Douglas Brown is running a poll in a new post to his blog asking which of the six choices (of the major PHP frameworks) is your favorite PHP framework.

In a perfect world, I would suggest to learn them all! However, there are only 24 hours in a day, and prioritizing your PHP framework education might be a good idea. So above I added a poll that I plead to other PHP developers out there to vote on. Hopefully after a lot of participation we will see the most popular PHP framework.

His motivation is to provide a good resource to developers looking to choose a framework and wanting to find one of the best supported and most used choices. He also solicits comments on the post if you have opinions on why one framework shines above the rest.
