In the article, I begin by introducing Zend's motivations for creating a framework and how it relates to their PHP Collaboration Project. More information on these topics can be found on the Zend Framework website. I then dive into a tutorial where I take a business scenario and show how the components included in the Zend Framework can be put to work.

The article demonstrates a workflow where invoice data is retrieved from a web service, an invoice in PDF format is then built from that data, and finally the resultant file is emailed to a customer. The components Zend_XmlRpc_Client, Zend_Pdf, Zend_Mail, and Zend_Search_Lucene are explored along the way.

Knut Urdalen shares a note about the latest issue of the International PHP Magazine - the December 2007 issue - that he has an article in.

The December issue of International PHP Magazine includes my latest article "Seamless AJAX with PRADO - An introduction to ActiveControls". In this article I discuss some AJAX design patterns and show you how to make use of them in AJAX enabled components that ships with the PRADO framework.

David Sklar has a quick mention on his blog today about the article concerning Ning in the latest issue of PHP Magazine.

The new issue of International PHP Magazine is out, with the cover story I wrote on building Ning apps.

The article provides an overview of working in the Ning playground -- in addition to all the regular PHP you know and love, it covers using the Ning Content Store, simplifying file uploads, and using our Ajax components.

Ning is "the easiest way to create your own social web apps on the Internet today".
